Unveiled | 2010 Air Jordan

As a born-and-raised Chicagoan, I will read, view, listen to anything involving Michael Jordan. As a kid growing up, basketball season was officially launched when my Dad would take my brother and I to the shoe store to pick up our shoes for that season. It was always after the Jordan's for that year were released. The designs have had their ups and downs, but they continue to be the most talked about shoe every year (sorry LeBron; come to Chicago and maybe we'll talk about letting you eclipse MJ).  Let the debate begin on the Air Jordan XXV, the 2010 25th Anniversary Edition.

My two cents - I'll wait for the other colorways to come out before passing judgement.  As a big fan of low- to mid-cut shoes for actually playing basketball (something about high tops, while better for ankle support, always made me feel like I couldn't cut as easily on the court), I would buy these in a heartbeat to play.  Kobe's experiment of going with a low-top shoe last year and causing waves must have been a success.

On the other hand, that wheel cutout just feels contrived to me.  What's its purpose?  I think the shoe would have looked better without it and instead replaced with a jumpman logo or a 23 in a retro font embroidery.  Just my opinion. Also, what if you happen to be wearing a pair of not-brand new, fresh white socks? What then???
